Echo Park used to live in the shadow of its hip neighbor Silver Lake, but no more! The northeast neighborhood has come into its own as one of Los Angeles’s up and coming trendy hip enclave. Old record stores, thrift shops bikes dominate the streets.  Dodger stadium is right around the corner for locals to easily catch a ball game on a sunny day. The culinary scene is also burgeoning in Echo Park with local casual dining dominating the scene. Make sure to check out favorite, Brite Spot. Primary schools are available within the neighborhood, but residents look to neighboring areas for high school. With its trendy and hip vibe, Echo Park is sure to be a favorite for anyone looking for an independent retro style neighborhood.

Winsome: Winsome is the perfect contemporary Echo Park diner to stop by for a homemade pastry and coffee. The trendy menu offers seasonal ingredients, housemade , and a range of breakfast and lunch specials.

The Short Stop: Hit the dance floor before a Dodgers home game while the DJ cranks out tunes. This dive bar is flocked to by a post-Dodger game crowd, perfect for unwinding any night of the week.
 
Little Joy Cocktails: This former dive bar has been revamped under new management and brings a punk-rock vibe, pool tables, and a jukebox.
 
The Holloway: The Holloway, brought about by the same minds, is the sports bar equivalent of Little Joy Cocktails. Stop by for a burger and artisanal brew.
 
Button Mash: Grab a beer and some grub and hit the pinball machine. This popular hipster spot features counters, booths, and communal tables with walls lined with every vintage arcade game imaginable.
 
El Prado: This cozy an ever-changing beer selection and bar snacks while setting the mood with an old-school record player.
